Free MHFA Gambling Conversations Opportunity
October 2022 - Mental Health Week
Lismore, Tweed Heads, Grafton and Coffs Harbour
Safer Communities is pleased to be partnering with Lifeline, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia and Gamble Aware to offer an opportunity for interested adults to attend a 4.5 Hour Gambling Conversations MHFA Course. The program is offered free of charge to support the North Coast Community. Participants will be accredited with a MHFA Certificate after completing this training.
Gambling Conversations is designed to build confidence to identify Gambling Harm and how to have a supportive conversation with a person experiencing such harm. MHFA Courses are evidence based and practical. We have attached a flyer for this course that provides further information.
Master MHFA instructor Mark Smith will deliver this training. Mark’s presentations are engaging and will provide participants with confidence to use the new skills they learn. You can read more about Mark’s expert experience delivering MHFA here.
There will be four opportunities on the North Coast of NSW to undertake this training - the course is being delivered during Mental Health Week in October 2022. There will be 22 places available in each course.
A light refreshment will be served during activity.
